A Century-Old Masía — Historic Grounds Where Hannibal Once Camped
Campo Aníbal’s main masía building is a centuries-old Valencian farmhouse in El Puig, about 20km from Valencia city on Spain’s Valencia & Surroundings coast, restored to preserve its original character while adding modern comfort. Surrounded by orange groves, the estate takes its name from a striking piece of history: local legend holds that the Carthaginian general Hannibal camped on these lands more than 2,000 years ago.
Inside, the masía offers several distinct salons of different sizes, all sharing tall wood-beam and tile ceilings and elegant, carefully considered decor. Outside, porches, pergolas and gardens shaded by centenary palms and ficus trees host the ceremony, cocktail hour or banquet, alongside a small on-site chapel and a garden pond area known as Los Toneles — a favourite spot for aperitifs and photos.
Campo Aníbal’s own in-house team of event coordinators works with couples as dedicated wedding planners throughout the process, paired with a kitchen that prepares everything on-site from scratch.
